Cryotherapy of the cervix
A procedure used to destroy abnormal tissue on the cervix by freezing it.
Endometrial ablation (with NovaSure)
The NovaSure procedure uses radiofrequency energy to safely remove the lining of the uterus to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding.
Essure permanant sterilization
A hormone-free nonreversible form of birth control, without requiring surgery. Soft flexible inserts are placed into the fallopian tubes providing safe and effective pregnancy prevention.
A procedure using a long slender telescope-like device to look inside the uterus. This procedure is often used to perform sterilization procedures, diagnose or treat uterine problems associated with abnormal uterine bleeding, or locate an intrauterine device.
A type of long-term birth control using a single flexible rod the size of a matchstick that is placed under the skin in the upper arm.
Intrauterine device (Mirena and Paragard)
A safe, long-term, and reversible form of birth control. A flexible T-shaped device is placed in the uterus to prevent pregnancy or to treat heavy mentrual bleeding.
LEEP procedures (Loop electrosurgical excision procedure)
A common procedure to test and treat abnormal tissue in the cervix. A low-voltage electrified wire loop is used to safely remove abnormal cell growth on the surface of the cervix.
